Saturday date night

Saturday night John and I left Miles for our first extended babysitting session (4 whole hours) with Grandma to attend a wedding reception. All went well and my dress even fit from the beginning of the night to the end. (If you have ever breastfed you know what my worry was...)

None of the pics taken of me and John together came out, but here is me and my good friend Renee.

John and I got some swing dancing in. I left my ballroom shoes at home, but next wedding, I am totally busting them out. It's torture on the feet to try to dance in heel-less shoes. That's my friend Renee with her husband Ed off to the right. We were so glad they were at the wedding. We always have a blast with them.

Once we got some dancing in and some cake, we left the happy couple to head home to see our little guy. He was good for Grandma who did a great job of caring for him. As you can see, he was tuckered out from all of her lovin and he was ready for bed. Not before we got some snuggles in and snapped some pics though!

Miles looks like his cousin Noah here, doesn't he?

Question: So now that's is hot out, I'm having a hard time dressing Miles in stuff where he doesn't get overheated. Because he was a winter baby, I have lots of heavy clothes to put him in but running short on some lighter stuff. So I need to go shopping for some summer stuff. If any of you have "hot blooded" babies out there, send me some tips on what brand of clothing or store or whatever has good lightweight summer clothes. I need to figure something out because when I take him out in his carseat he gets really hot and that, of course, leads to a meltdown (literally) while I'm driving, which really is not fun. So email me or leave a comment if you have suggestions.

Well, looking at these sleeping baby pics reminds me that it's time for bed. John has already been in bed for a couple of hours. He's been super tired as he has been working his butt off lately. Usually he would still be working away, but I sent him to bed with the pugs (a special treat)early and I think it's time to do the same.

Nighty night!

Looking at Miles takes me back to Noah's baby days. I can't believe our little guy is 6.5 years old already. Thanks for sharing, I check for new pics everyday.
