First Wedding

One of John's co-workers got married this past weekend at a small wedding in Huntington and we took Miles along. I was pretty worried we would end up being the "jerks" with the crying baby but Miles ended up sitting silent through the whole wedding. We were, however, the jerks who showed up a few minutes late, but we slipped in the back behind a few other late arrivals which gave us the perfect seats to slip back out if needed. Miles was slack jawed and in awe of the big room with colorful windows and the only noise he made were a few slurps from his bottle. Once the happy couple were pronounced husband and wife, the booming pipe organ started to blare which was quite a shock to Miles. Thankfully he kept it together and honestly, the rest of the day was cake. (Actually, we missed out on cake, but you get the idea.) At the reception, he giggled and smiled as John passed him around to co-workers and then he actually fell asleep in my lap as I was eating.

It's always so nice to go to weddings. John and I agreed that a good wedding is a reminder to all the couples at the event to reflect upon their own relationships and say a little vow renewal of their own to honor the new couple.

Above are a couple of photos we snapped between the wedding and reception. You can tell Miles is sleepy and not to far from his mid-reception nap.
