memory lane...

Seeing one of John's toys from his childhood at Annie's house, made me do a bit of poking around on Ebay. I found the Happy Apple and then something else caught my eye. I saw a ton of vintage Little People toys and I have been freaking out in a reminiscent stupor ever since this evening. My friend Jen, who has a blog, grew up next door to me and had every Fisher Price play set ever made. I remember playing for hours with those cool sets. Here are a couple of sets I have found on Ebay that made my heart jump and brought me back to the simpler days. Oh man, it makes me excited for all the fun Miles has in store.

Here are some of my finds. Anything look familiar to you?

I remember this castle had a pink dragon that came with it and these prissy looking king and queen's with permanant crowns stuck to their head. It was awesome.

This tree house made John's heart jump.

This was one of my favorites!

I loved playing mailman and putting the little envelopes in the mail slots.

Ok, enough of memory lane. We had an awesome afternoon today. John and I went to our neighbor's house to swim and had a great time. Their pool was super warm and Miles swam with us for the longest time. He splashed and splashed like crazy and really didn't seem to bore of it. I love that it's so hot out that you can swim at 5:30 in the afternoon and it might as well be noon. It felt great and we loved getting the chance to hang out with our neighbors who are super cool.

Then, after dinner, we indulged in some really fun snuggling and giggling with Miles. He had no interest in bed, though we certianly tried. We are usually sticklers with Miles' bedtime, but tonight we couldn't resist and let him stay up and just enjoyed him. It was really good family time. We feel so blessed and just love our precious little guy. He's still working on cutting those teeth of his. I don't feel any buds yet, but lots of drool and other signs. (That was part of the reason I don't think he was ready for bed.) He's sleeping now, so all is well. Speaking of which, I need to get to bed!

The 5 Pages meet the 3 Kings

This past weekend we visited the Page Family who live in Noblesville. I hadn't seen Annie since my baby shower in December, though we talk on the phone and email all the time.

Her boys, Drew and John, were so sweet. Drew especially loves babies, so he really got into seeing Miles.

Miles got to try out an exersaucer for the first time and all sorts of new toys.

Ryan got some snuggle time in with Miles.

Annie, hiding under her coffee cup.

Ryan and Annie were best friends of Andy and when I came along, we became fast friends as well. They welcomed John with open arms and we have really been blessed with their friendship.

Drew and Jon have the neatest backyard and played a lot outside while we were there. Here's drew showing us his skills on the swing.
Penny woke up and we finally got to meet her. She was born on 2-16-07, which was Miles' original due date. What a cutie!

At some point during the day, John heard this jingling noise that he immediatly recognized as the "Happy Apple," a toy from the 70's of Annie's that John had as a child too. His parents actually called him the Happy Apple becuase he, like the apple, was super smiley as well. So we had to get some pics of Miles and the Apple since that was such a special toy to him.

Here's me and Annie in our matching "mom uniforms" of dark tank tops and khaki capri's. Actually, we have been known to have the same taste on many things. I've been so lucky to have inherited boxes upon boxes of some great baby boy clothes from her, which I guarentee you have seen Miles wear on the blog. THANK YOU ANNIE!
Relaxing together under the turtle play gym.

It's so cute when babies touch each other like this. Such cuties!

Thank you Ryan and Annie for hosting us for the day. It's always so good to see you guys. Your family is just precious and we can't wait to see you again!

P.S. Ryannie, there are more pics, and we'll do some better color correcting on John's computer when we get a chance. These were just processed quickly on my computer.

coming attraction...teeth?

Miles has been in such a great mood and such a happy baby this weekend. I had a SUPER busy week this week running around meeting up with a bunch of people and errands so today, John and I were hermits and stayed home to do some VERY overdue housework. We worked pretty hard, but unlike the old days where I could clean the whole house in a couple of hours, we worked all day and I still didn't get it all done. Oh well, a little dirt won't hurt, as John says.

As you can see, Miles has been droolin a lot, which is a big sign of teething. After an evening of happy giggles and games, he surprised us with some major tears before bed and it was definitly teething. He finally got to sleep though and he seems to be down for the night. We don't feel any teeth yet, but I'm sure they will show up soon.

Gotta get to bed. By the way, I've added a poll on my blog now. i'm going to just keep asking random questions for minor amusement.

wrestling with daddy

It's been a lot of fun lately to lie on the floor and just let Miles climb all over us. When I do it, I usualy end up covered in spit up. Today, Daddy got lucky and stayed dry. Here's a peak into John's welcome home wrestling session. You'll see plenty of toe and finger munching and even a lick from Stamp, who is never far when Miles is on the floor.

Stamp and I both agree, It's so good to have Daddy home again!

3 kings reunited

John made it home and I escaped the wrath of the ax murder unharmed. (Whew! Though once I mentioned the idea of an ax murderer coming and getting me I was TOTALLY freaked out to be alone. Yikes!)

John had an AWESOME trip and I enjoyed some alone time, though I"m thrilled daddy is back home. The house is SUCH a mess though! I have so much to do. I would not make a good single mom at all. Well, at least the house would never be clean again. John is SUCH a good team member, life goes alot more smoothly (and more fun not to mention ax murderer-free) when he is around.

Gotta run! So much to do!

yum...

sMiles strikes again

John's adventure

Tune into: John's blog to hear about John's trip to Los Angeles for the Turner Classic Movies Composers Expo. I'm so happy he has been enjoying himself, though I'm homesick for him!

I wasn't going to mention him being out of town for fear an ax murderer would see my blog and come and get us.(I've been watching too much LifeTime Television for women, if you can't tell.) I think I'll be ok though, I'm scrappy!

big foot and baby feet

Miles says, "Pbbbbbbbbbbbt!"

There actually is a yoga pose called "Happy Baby" pose. Here's our little yogi working on it and reminding me to work on my super tight hip flexors!

Day two of patio project:

First pour the concrete in.

Make it smooth....

Lay the stamps and do some stompin.

Then add the detail work.

Pretty cool, huh? Tomorrow they will clean it off, cut some lines and the seal it to make it shiny.

Hey, is that Big Foot? The guys from Hoot Landscaping worked their booties off. They were covered in dyed cement from head to toe! This picture is taken through my back window which was covered by plastic. Really gives it that Big Foot effect, huh?

kisses from daddy make me giggle!
