big news!

Today was a big day in the King household. John quit his job. Instead of being an employee of Marching Show Concepts, he is now an independant contractor working via contracts for Marching Show Concepts (MSC.) His studio, Metta Audio, is now his full time business and not just a hobby. (Metta means loving kindness, by the way.) MSC will be his main client, but he also does web page design, orchestration and arrangement work and hopefully, as we learn more, perhaps photography as well someday. Not to mention writing music, which he has always done under his studio and not on an hourly basis as an employee.

So my family doesn't worry, I want to add that we have our own health insurance and we do know that this is a bit of a risk. But honestly, the only way John can grow professionaly was to streamline and take this path.

John is absolutly thrilled and has been beaming ever since he got back from meeting with his former boss and now #1 client. When I hugged him, I could just feel all this energy buzzing all around him. It's exhilarating and scary all at once.So please wish us luck. It's been a crazy week of slumber party nights of us laying in bed whispering back and forth until 3 AM the ins and outs of what to do. When it comes down to it though it really, truly is the perfect time to do this. Please pray for us as we transition that things go well and his contracts go smoothly with MSC.

On a seperate note. Here is a list of Miles' favorite toys right now: Measuring tape (supervised), tupperware bowl full of cereal to shake, door hinges, red plastic funnel, spatula, trash cans, zip-lock baggies full of cereal, pugs' flappy cheeks, diaper bag strap, dog water bowl, baby comb, plastic medicine dropper, nasal aspirator thing (never used), paper of any kind, the door to my office armoire and boxes of ebay stuff we are shiping.

Normal toys he likes: blocks he likes to hold and clap together. That's pretty much it!

That's all for now. I'm exhausted. Time for bed! Check John's blog as well as he blogged about his big day also. John's Blog

Are you kidding me? Never used the nasal aspirator? I'm impressed!

Congrats, John! We know you'll do great! Lots of love coming your way.

Take care,
